My spiritual quest for God was a rocky road with several detours, and my search continued until He found me.
God kept trying to break through to me…He kept bringing people into my life who would speak of Him, and because of my rocky road past, I wasn’t interested. But then I met Him again on the expressway outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was running late and rushing home to get my daughter to her first day of her new job, when I had a flat tire! Don’t you just love it when that happens?
I put my head on the wheel and said, “God, if you are out there, help me!” Immediately, a little S-10 pickup pulled over beside me and a man I didn’t know and never met again change the tire for me.
On the bumper of the truck was a sticker that said “John 3:16”…not only had God answered my prayer, but He signed it with that bumper sticker just so I couldn’t claim it was a coincidence!
You will be pleased to know that my path smoothed out. I began earnestly looking for my Savior and for a church where I could learn more. My husband and I found a good church where I started working with the youth pastor to start a Released Time program at our school. This led to working with an international ministry, Scripture Union, which has a large children’s outreach program.
I have always had an interest in art, but as often happens, life got in the way. After we retired and moved to Arizona, I started in various art forms and fell in love with the vibrant colors and fluid movement of alcohol ink.
My prayer is that you get as much enjoyment from the art pieces the Lord has enabled me to create as I have had in making them. What a great God we have!
