Diane Criswell FurrMulti-media to include Acrylic and Water Color Painting
Diane Criswell Furr is a native Texas artist who dedicated her painting and creative art to the Lord in the year 2000. Since then, she has produced many works in a variety of mediums including oils, watercolor, clay, and acrylic. Her art is greatly influenced by the years she spent roaming the woods of their north Texas ranch, and seeking God in the awesome handiworks of God’s wildlife and natural design.
She enjoys experimenting with different mediums and techniques. An example of this style can be seen at the Adonai Galleries in the series called “The Names of God”. (Both originals and prints are offered.) Her passion is to teach others how to free themselves from conventional limitations and expectations concerning art. She instructs and guides them to have fun and not be afraid to try different methods.
In 2011, her husband was offered a job at a college in West Virginia. The move gave Diane the opportunity to take as many upper level studio art courses as she could. This type of study led to a freedom to experiment with paint and confidence to develop her talents even further.
“I try to hear God when expressing spiritual things in my work. I dwell on different scriptures months at a time and know this molds my creativity.
This past year, the words from the letters of Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 have greatly influenced me. "What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirt-taught words."
